The New Bond: Quantum of Solace, a day early.
Posted on 13 November 2008 | Category: Uncategorized |

Have no fear, I’m not including spoilers here…at least not big ones.

Grrlplanet was fortunate to get an early look at the new Bond movie before release on Nov 14th, it was a very cool evening that ended with the author getting some amazing action. But, I digress. Let me share about the movie, and what I found. The good news? Action is plentiful….it’s basically, the entire film. The bad news? The action is basically the entire film. The plot is minimal, the chicks are just okay, and frankly, I’d rather have Casino Royale anyday.

With that being said…let me tell you a bit about why I’ve said what I’ve said. The new “Bond girl,” (shown above), is actually fairly interesting….she kicks the ass of a guy who is actually raping a woman, but she ends up shortly thereafter taking a total nose dive in my book when she cowers behind Bond during a fire. It was kind of gross. In fact, almost her entire existence in the movie is Bond “rescuing” her in some way. It was girlpower in the toilet.

The action was very cool, but that’s always what you expect. They spent a lot of money in the film, and it showed. There was a WWII-era plane fight scene, a separate boat chase/conflict scene that was pretty great, and numerous other action sequences that seem to never end.

The character of Bond in this movie was lacking. It wasn’t well-developed, he has no meaningful interactions with anyone, and the plot was a bit thin. It seemed like it only existed as a backdrop for action, not that it actually had any meaning in and of itself. Well, what can you expect from Bond?

What I expect is that in the future, maybe they’ll let the real Bond step in. I’m thinking Gisele wearing stilettos in every scene at a clothing optional location where she will fight, have her way with “Bond girls” and save the world. But that’s just my opinion.

The good old days?

Transplant studies: A bit hypocritical?
Posted on 13 November 2008 | Category: Uncategorized |

A recent study reported by MSNBC.com, reported that there is a higher rate of survival and less rate of rejection with organ transplants (particularly of the heart) when the donor is of the same sex. They think it is an issue of size of the organ, hormones, and immune system matching. The study was conducted by Dr. Eric Weiss of Johns Hopkins University, and presented recently at a conference of the American Heart Association.

So, basically, while they don’t want you to actually marry another woman, they want you to give your organs to one. Because if they put their parts into yours “medically,” I suppose it’s okay? In fact, it’s actually BETTER for you, than parts from the opposite gender.

While I am an organ donor (don’t get any ideas out there), I don’t know why they would be okay with putting another woman’s parts into my body permanently, while at the same time vocalizing repulsion and not wanting me to have sex in any way I see fit.

Swapping spit? horrible!

Taking out my heart and putting it into her body…okay?

That whole “the parts don’t fit” argument, just doesn’t hold up. They do fit…and they fit even better than parts in any other gender. Okay, it’s a stretch…but you get my point.

Join Impact: Take it to the streets (and if you’re lucky, maybe back to the sheets?)
Posted on 12 November 2008 | Category: Uncategorized |

We all agree that Proposition 8 passing has been an atrocity. There have been protests in the thousands, everyday, in California…and they are asking us to bring it home and show our strength and presence across the United States on this terrible human rights violation.

So, take it to the streets. There are protests scheduled across the United States on November 15th (that’s this Saturday). Go. Be a part of something larger than yourself. Be visible. Take a stand.

Grrlplanet will be out there, and we hope you will too. To see the Protest the closest to you this Saturday, please visit http://jointheimpact.com/

There is nothing sexier than a woman who knows what she wants. Show them what you’ve got. To all the hot bloggers out there, I encourage you to spread the word.

Toyota knows what it’s like to meet the parents.

This is a great, um, almost-meeting-the-parents-moment. Cheers to Toyota for even putting out this commercial (in Canada), God knows that America would never run it…you know, because it shows us as being “normal.”

Enjoy.

Lindsay likes that we have a “colored president”
Posted on 12 November 2008 | Category: objectionable? |

Get out your Crayons folks!

Lindsay is a lot of things…but politically correct, she is not. The Defamer reported that she was proud to see “our nation’s first colored President” become elected.

I don’t think I’ve heard the word “colored” used to describe someone of mixed ethnic background or African heritage since reading history books in 6th grade. My Grandma may or may not also use that word, no matter how many times I correct her.

While I like the fact that Lindsay encouraged voters, and that she’s likely banging a chick, I think her true talents remain in half-naked photographs…though I could settle for a sequel to “Mean Girls” - I really liked that movie and I’m not apologizing for it.

The Best Back. Period.

According to Popcrunch.com, Madonna is reportedly the new face of Louis Vuitton, and by the looks of previous pictures, I think she’ll be amazing. More importantly, this news gives me the opportunity to post one of my favorite pictures of Madonna.

This was a picture taken for W Magazine, and I think it shows clearly that she’s got the sexiest back out there. She’s 50, but beat this:

Mickey Rourke uses the “F” word…and it’s not the one I like doing.
Posted on 11 November 2008 | Category: celebrity, objectionable? |

Recently, Mickey Rourke was confronted by TMZ.com, where he proceeded to say that he would harm the “F$%^&t” who was responsible for spreading some rumors about him.

As you can see by these mug shots, Mickey is not just eloquent in his speech, he’s also quite a catch:
