The “surprise” lesbian is often a lot of fun.

Let’s face it, there aren’t a lot of lesbian characters on television. Often, when they are, the television show has to go out of it’s way to show you just how gay they are…and while I would hope they do that more (because it often involves scenes which include making out, and “explicit content,”) I also appreciate when they just sort of surprise you.
Case in point? Law & Order’s Serena Southerlyn (Elizabeth Rohm)….you don’t find out she’s gay until the day she gets fired as asks “is this because I’m a lesbian?” Whoa….
What I like best about Serena is that she’s always so uptight and businesslike. Who doesn’t love an uptight woman in a suit? It just tempts me to mess her hair, ruff up the suit, rip those hose off, and have a great time in some dirty location.
Or, the more likely scenario, I could just hide and admire from afar. Either way, the fantasy is a good one.
Thanks to BuddyTV for the lead on this one…

TV attorneys (lesbian or not) are always fifteen times more interesting, invested, and cooler than the ones I work with in real life.
Just saying.

First off, I agree with Amanda 1,000,000%. The attorneys I work with aren’t half as multi-faceted.
Second, see, I was kinda peeved that they did that lesbian thing in the end. It bugged me. I felt like they were reaching.
Maybe I’m wrong.
It did add her to my fictional gallery of possibles though.
